The Twistlok coupling is twist to release and is a very long established, good quality durable product used in factories all over the world. This product is available with female parallel and male tapered BSP threads, as well as with hose tail connectors.

To release the coupling you simply need to twist the sleeve on the coupling half. This is a safety feature that helps prevent accidental disconnection from occurring.
This is a 'single shut off' coupling which means that when the two halves are disconnected the coupling side seals and on the plug side the air is allowed to vent to atmosphere. The coupling therefore must always be installed on the upstream side of the air flow.
The Schrader standard Twistlok is rated for a maximum pressure of 17 bar (or 250 psi) and a flow of 23.6 litres/second (or 50 cfm). The coupling half is also known as a check unit and the plug (or adaptor) profile is interchangeable with Rectus series 17 and PCL PF Range.
A repair kit is available too and is adaptable to be used for all sizes.
The range includes a plug (or adaptor) with an anti-whip device built in. This is a further safety feature which means that when the hose is disconnected, the air on the downstream side is released gradually. This helps prevent the hose from whipping and causing injury.
