Heavy Duty Schrader Twistlok couplings and adaptors are a range of quick release couplings for compressed air and pneumatic systems designed for higher flow application manufactured originally by Schrader Bellows, a subsidiarity of Parker. Commonly referred to simply as �Twist Lock�, these couplings are extremely popular in the automotive and production industries.
The Twistlok coupling is highly versatile due to its twist to release functionality and durability. It is a very long established product and has high quality design, making it a valuable part in factories all over the world. Many customers like this product due the increased safety it provides.
There is quite a unique catch release on the coupling half that requires a simple twist of the sleeve. This unique feature helps to prevent any accidental disconnection.
This is a 'single shut off' coupling which means that when the two halves are disconnected the coupling side seals and on the plug side the air is allowed to vent to atmosphere. The coupling therefore must always be installed on the upstream side of the air flow.
The Schrader heavy duty Twistlok is rated for a maximum pressure of 17 bar (or 250 psi) and a flow of 51.9 litres/second (or 110 cfm).
The coupling half is also known as a check unit.
