Compressed Air Cylinder / Pneumatic Cylinder / Pneumatic Ram
A component made up of a cylinder barrel, end covers, a piston rod and a piston which moves
when compressed air is introduced to one end or the other. Many variations exist including
single acting (air at one end and spring at the other), double acting (air both ends) and magnetic
(for use with sensors to detect the position of the piston) and they can be made from various
materials. There are also numerous mountings for attaching the cylinder.
