Transair safety type quick release or disconnect couplings for compressed air. Metal couplings which are push button operated.
This range conforms to safety standard ISO 4414 and the plug or probe profile is ISO 6150C 5.5mm (8mm & 11mm available on request).
To connect simply push the plug in as normal. To disconnect press the button; this releases the air in the downstream side but the coupling and plug cannot be separated until the button is released. In this way the air can be vented safely and it reduces the chance of a hose whipping and causing injury.
This coupling is a "single shut off" type which means that when the coupling and plug are separated the air in the plug side is vented to atmosphere. The coupling should always be fitted on the upstream side of the air flow.
This range of couplings is suitable for use with compressed air, vacuum and inert gases such as argon and nitrogen.
The coupling half can be supplied with BSP Parallel threads male or female or with a hosetail.
